Dr. Vijay Markonda

Dr. Markonda’s journey into dentistry began in his hometown in southern India, inspired by his father’s dedication to patient care and his mother’s encouragement. After earning his dental degree in India in 2018, he moved to the United States to expand his training and deepen his expertise.

He completed a fellowship in Orofacial Pain and TMJ Disorders at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and then an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Rochester. During his time there, he served as Chief Resident, received a scholarship, and contributed as a Teaching Assistant in oral surgery and dental photography.

Dr. Markonda is dedicated to providing personalized, advanced dental care, with a strong focus on implant dentistry. Using the latest technology, he creates custom treatment plans and smile makeovers tailored to each patient’s goals. His expertise includes oral surgery, dental implant placement, management of implant complications, and full-mouth rehabilitation.

Many patients struggle with the fit or stability of traditional dentures, and this is where Dr. Markonda’s skill truly makes a difference. He may recommend implant-supported dentures for improved retention or fixed prostheses securely attached to implants for maximum stability and comfort. For those with partially missing teeth, modern implant solutions offer long-lasting, natural-looking results, overcoming the limitations of older treatments.

A firm believer in evidence-based dentistry, Dr. Markonda focuses on creating functional, beautiful prosthetics that restore both confidence and quality of life. He has a special interest in the esthetic zone—the highly visible front teeth—where precision and artistry matter most. Before any procedure, he reviews pre-operative photos and 3D scans with patients to set realistic expectations and deliver results that meet or exceed them.

Outside the office, Dr. Markonda enjoys skiing, swimming, and volunteering in the community, and he shares helpful insights and case studies on his blog for those interested in modern dental care.
